The TAFN Program

The Africa Farmers Network (TAFN), is a membership-based program that assists farmers in agricultural development. We connect the farmer and their products to the global market from local deliveries to overseas supply chains. With expert quality control measures we ensure that every farmer in our network is Certified Grade A products. Branding our products as a household name is a major focus for the company.

FOOD SUPPLY AND THE GLOBAL FOOD MARKET. Worldwide, the food supply available to people depends on a variety of environmental, technical, and sociopolitical factors, the relative importance of which have varied considerably in time as well as geographically. Environmental factors have governed food production and availability throughout history, and this remains so for many societies. However, in a world where food is abundant as never before, food supply is extremely vulnerable to economic and political interests, as well as technical factors, such as transportation and communications.

A food distribution network will be established to deliver the products to the general population as well as manufactures or processing centers. Food distribution is a subset of the food system. The process and methodology behind food distribution vary by location. Food distribution has been a defining characteristic of human behavior in all societies, and recordings of food distribution date back for thousands of years.

There are a multitude of risk factors that can affect food distribution. War, economic failure, political problems, and weather conditions all play a role in determining the efficiency of any food system. As a partner with One of the largest organizations working towards avoiding food distribution crises on the global stage in the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). The FAO is a branch of the United Nations, and actively works to improve food distribution in countries that need support.

We have created an inclusive value chain that works to promote market linkages in African countries, which places emphasis on identifying possible ways in which small-scale farmers can be incorporated into an existing network.

Agricultural investment is a necessary requirement to develop and organize the agricultural sector in Africa. The African agricultural potential offers opportunities to be seized in terms of intensification of production and structuring of the agricultural value chains. The shift towards a modern and intensive mode of agriculture must necessarily go through the development of a comprehensive agricultural policy that takes into account several components from irrigation, use of inputs, and organization of marketing facilities. These investments will lead our members to develop a sufficient agricultural production that ensures food security for the population and to an active agricultural sector well integrated in the economy of African countries.
